Rentschler’s Altensteig location will be integrated into the Southern German land transport network / Bundling effects for shippers from industry and commerce in Baden-Württemberg / Secure jobs for 80 employees

The international transport and logistics service provider Gebrüder Weiss is taking over the Rentschler Transport + Logistik forwarding company based in Altensteig, Baden-Württemberg, with effect from January 1, 2023. Following the 100 percent takeover, 80 employees will transfer to Gebrüder Weiss. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

“Rentschler’s scope of services and location offer ideal conditions for the network enhancement we are pursuing in Southern Germany. In the triangle formed by our Aldingen and Esslingen branches in Baden-Württemberg, in particular, shippers from industry and commerce will benefit from bundling effects for transports,” explains Werner Dettenthaler, Managing Director Land Transport Germany at Gebrüder Weiss.

“Under the umbrella of Gebrüder Weiss, our growth perspectives and development opportunities are expanding. This strategic step gives our customers access to a broader range of services as well as connections to the global network of an established full-service logistics expert,” adds Andreas Rentschler, Managing Director at Rentschler Transport + Logistik. The freight forwarder specializes in groupage freight, partial and full load transports in Baden-Württemberg and operates a logistics terminal in Altensteig.

This acquisition is another step in the growth strategy of Gebrüder Weiss in Southern Germany. The Altensteig location, 60 kilometers south of Stuttgart, complements Gebrüder Weiss’ existing Southern German land transport locations in Esslingen, Aldingen, Lindau, Memmingen, Nuremberg, Straubing, Waldkraiburg, and Passau.
