Sustainable solutions in air and sea freight

Gebrüder Weiss focuses on sustainable fuels to make air and sea freight transport more environmentally friendly

On the road to climate neutrality, we are looking at a variety of sustainable solutions. In land transport, we are increasingly focusing on alternative drives such as hydrogen, electric or gas. In sea and air freight, sustainable fuels are also viable alternatives to fossil fuels for the operation of aircraft and container ships. This offers significant potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With this in mind, we give you the option of booking either Sustainable Aviation Fuel or Sustainable Marine Fuel for your shipments.

Our packages at a glance

Gebrüder Weiss calculates CO2 emissions (WTW) with EcoTransIT. The calculation takes into account pre-carriage, main carriage and on-carriage as well as the specific modes of transport. The abbreviation “WTW” or “Well to Wheel” refers to CO2 emissions from the source of the raw materials up to and including the operation of the transport modes.

Sustainable Aviation Fuel and Sustainable Marine Fuel are sustainable fuels used in aviation and shipping. They are mostly produced from non-fossil raw materials. Compared to conventional fuels, CO2 emissions are reduced by up to 100 percent. The amount of sustainable fuel can be determined and the cost calculated, based on the transport distance, shipment details and weight.
